IoT Systems Engineer – Connected Devices

Zurich Area, Switzerland (1–2 days home office)

The Opportunity

I'm currently supporting an innovative Swiss technology company looking for an IoT Systems Engineer to take ownership of the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of a cutting-edge connected solution.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where hardware meets software, and where your work directly impacts real-world applications.

What You will Be Doing

Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of a live IoT platform (end-to-end lifecycle)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across hardware, firmware, and data systems
Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
Analyse system/data performance to improve reliability and user experience
Collaborate closely with R&D, product teams, and customer-facing teams
Support international customers (strong exposure to US-based clients)

What You Bring

Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar)
Experience working with electromechanical systems + software exposure
Solid understanding of:

• IoT platforms / connected devices
• SQL / databases
• Scripting (Python is a plus)

Knowledge of wireless communication protocols is advantageous
Comfortable working with physical devices, field setups, and real-world systems
Strong organisational & problem-solving skills

Fluent English is essential (German is a plus, not mandatory)
